Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist

Served as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist, for Commander Navy Southeast Region (CNRSE), Jacksonville Florida Naval Air Station (NAS). Responsible for creating interview questions in order to obtain vital information, with regards to a complainant’s EEO complaint(s) of discrimination. I was also required to schedule and contact the complainant; witnesses and management officials in accordance with establish timelines and procedures for interviews and information. I was responsible for framing the EEO claim regarding discrimination, to include all of the complainant’s allegations of discrimination that were identified in the EEO complaint, using the EEO intake form and information taken during the initial interview with the complainant. This requirement included conducting the final interview with the complainant, along with drafting and writing a notice of final interview memorandum which is sent to the complainant and the complainant’s representative. I was also responsible for identifying mediation dates from mediation participants; scheduling the mediation and providing complaint information to the complainant on how to prepare for the mediation. Additionally I was required to write the complainant, witnesses and management officials interview statements regarding the allegation of discrimination, ensuring each statement included information regarding the who, what, where, when, why, and how regarding the complainant’s allegations of discrimination, ensuring the accuracy of all information included on the EEO Counselor’s Report. Utilize the Investigative Resolution Division’s, (IRD) website to identify the required documents relevant to the complainant’s allegations of discrimination. Analyze those EEO documents received to ensure legibility, and that those documents received coincide with the documents requested. Finally add the required EEO documents to an electronic and hardcopy case file in the required agency format. I was also responsible for assisting with the training regarding EEO related programs. Was also responsible for having a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of Federal EEO principles, laws, regulations, policies, procedures and relevant decisions to identify and resolve problems, eliminate barriers to equal employment opportunities, advised commanders, staff officials and line managers, and employees. Have a thorough knowledge of the Business Objectives Reporting System, Micro-Pact iComplaints Complaints Tracking System, and the Management Directives (MD)-715, and MD 110, EEO doctrine.

Performs the full range of specialized technical functions associated with the EEO program, including complaints processing, affirmative action plans, special emphasis program management and related activities, such as program development, program management and program evaluation.
